Scientific name: Mephitis mephitis

Etymology: Apparently, ‟it sprays around”, with liz ‟to urinate, spray” and hoon derived from the areal prefix wh followed by the perfective in. However, although this analysis makes sense, it is unclear why an active verb like this would be conjugated in the perfective like a neutre verb.
