Snow and Ice

There are two basic words for “ice”: “lhum”, which designates pieces of ice, and “tun”, which designates ice over a surface, as on a lake or road. There are also two basic words for “snow”. In most cases “snow” is “yus̲”. However, blowing snow is “tsil”.

The word “s̲o” means “condensation”, which may be liquid, as with dew, or solid, as with frost.
