The writing system created in 1885 by Father Adrien-Gabriel Morice by adapting to Carrier the Northwest Territories version of what ultimately originated as the Cree syllabics created by the Reverend James Evans in 1840. This writing system is currently known only by a few people, but was once widely used by Carrier people.
