Etymology: Literally, ‟Chilcotins' graveyard”, after a battle between Carrier and Chilcotin people at this place in which many Chilcotins were killed. Note that the term Nechaot'en sometimes refers to Blackwater Carrier but in this case refers to Chilcotins, reflecting a period in which the Chilcotin lived farther north.
