Root:   get₁   «crawl-12»

For one or two to move on all limbs, typically on all fours. When applied to human beings this verb generally means crawl, but it applies also to walking on hands and feet. When applied to four-legged animals that normally walk on all four limbs, it describes the normal form of locomotion and translates into English as walk. It also applies to birds, which have only two legs. However, as birds, even when not moving particularly fast, tend to move their legs in a rapid, jerky fashion, what in English may be described as walking will in Carrier often be described as running. It is applied also to ants, which have six legs.
