The roots ya₁, 'as₁, and del₁ all describe walking on one pair of limbs, the way people usually do. In contrast, the roots get₁ and 'as₂ describe walking using all pairs of limbs, such as walking on all fours the way moose, bears, and dogs usually do. If a bear gets up and walks on his hind legs, that is described by ya₁. If a person gets down and walks or crawls on all fours, that is described by get₁.| Essay List | ![]() |
